El Borrego De Oro (Austin, TX)

It takes a little effort to find El Borrego de Oro, and even after you’re inside, you won’t quite believe that this unassuming restaurant makes one of my favorite tacos in the US. But once that piping hot birria taco makes it into your mouth, you’ll know why. Made from top-quality goat meat and delivered on one of the best handmade corn tortillas around (that looks like a flour tortilla to the untrained eye), El Borrego is famous for their birria.
