For a number of years now, Uchi has competed for the crown of best restaurant in Austin, and I think it might be. With top-tier Japanese hot and cold plates as well as sushi, everything about it is outstanding, from the architecture of the location to the architecture of the food. Bring enough money to splurge and make a reservation.
RECS: Anything and everything, as much as your stomach and wallet can handle. Most of my favorites are the “cool tastings,” and I love the uniquely subtle Ocha Zuke soup, but you’ll be just as happy telling your server to choose everything for you.
