What do you need to know about Saburo’s? Get there early. Arriving at peak dinner hours can mean sitting down around bedtime, or not at all if they’ve closed the wait list. Saburo’s draws a massive, devoted clientele for one reason: price. Not only is it some of the cheapest sushi in town—while still remaining relatively high in quality—but they probably serve biggest cuts of fish you’ll find anywhere. Case in point: The one and only time I ordered an eel avocado handroll, which when it arrived looked more like a Mexican burrito, was so massive and forbidding that after several bites, it hadn’t seemed to diminish in size at all.
RECS: Whatever sounds good. Just be sure to bring a hungry stomach.
