One of my favorite taco trucks in Austin, El Norteño is known to almost no one thanks to its perfectly inconvenient locations. Unless you live nearby, it’s unlikely you’ll ever set eyes on them. But please, please do, because their superb tacos deserve a following. The top-billed item here is a sizable roast chicken meal, but then you’d miss out on their wide variety of taco delights. Do yourself a favor and head to one of these trucks asap.
RECS: The carnitas, beef barbacoa, and beans-and-eggs tacos are some of the best in Austin: no-frills, perfectly executed, and topped in out-of-this-world spicy green salsa.
