If you’re not in the mood for bland reheated pizza slices, finding a quick, cheap, tasty late-night snack in downtown Austin can be a serious challenge. Meat-eaters will find one of the best options at the appropriately named Best Wurst, where you can choose from four different kinds of hot sausages. They’re all delicious and only $4, so if the first doesn’t fill you up, try another. NOTE: The sausages are gluten-free and the cooks are happy to leave off the bun if you can’t eat wheat.
RECS: Any and all, but my favorite is the smoked pork Italian—seasoned with cayenne and fennel—topped with grilled onions, sauerkraut, curry ketchup and spicy mustard.
