Kebabalicious (Austin, TX)

Next time you’re wandering 6th St, suddenly overcome by late-night hunger pangs, veer up to the darkened parking lot on 7th where the Kebabalicious food cart makes its home. Hopefully you’re there Wednesday-Saturday (they’re closed the other half of the week) because the kebabs here are some of the best cheap-eats available downtown. The price may be higher than, say, a sausage around the corner at Best Wurst, but the intense flavors and variety of ingredients make it worth the extra buck.

RECS: All diets will find an option here—from beef & lamb schwarma to a falafel pocket or Turkish salad—but the chicken kebab is by far their best offering, and some of the tastiest poultry I’ve had in Austin. You can get it wrapped in a pocket, or go for the no-wheat no-dairy version in a bowl with vegan toppings: fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, paprika and olive oil.

(Kebabalicious is located here.)
