Odd Duck Farm To Trailer (Austin, TX)

In just a few short months of being open, Odd Duck has rocketed to the upper echelons of the Austin food scene. The pitch: four-star cuisine served at trailer park prices… out of a trailer. The menu changes daily based on what’s available at local farmer’s markets, typically offering a small selection of dishes from $2-$7. For the time being, Odd Duck sits in the shadow of the much-beloved Gourdough’s Donuts trailer a few feet away, but I have a feeling it won’t be long before this little outpost is completely overrun. IDEA: For an only-in-Austin night out, start with dinner at Odd Duck, then hop over to a movie at the Alamo across the street. Both are essential experiences.

RECS: Anything and everything, it’s all top top notch. That being said, with a fundamental emphasis on meat (again, sourced from the most local of vendors) eating at Odd Duck will be nearly impossible for strict vegans and vegetarians. Recipes also tend to rely heavily on cream, cheese and bread, making it somewhat difficult for those with wheat or dairy allergies. If none of these are a problem, Odd Duck should be at the top of your list.
