Rave reviews have helped Beets Cafe pick up a number of devotees in a short amount of time, and for good reason. Austin is surprisingly lacking in uber-healthy eateries and Beets has swooped in to try to fill the void. While the decor does a mediocre job of hiding the fact that you’re eating in the retail space of a new condo complex, the delicious raw, vegan, gluten-free food transcends the surroundings. Though some items can seem a bit pricey ($8 for a plain old hummus plate?!), others are worth every penny.
RECS: ELT sandwich. Curried carrot soup. Asian-style noodle salad. Vegan ice cream and any of the dessert items.
