I don’t really know much about Juanita’s. No one I know eats there—has ever eaten there. Is that a result of its somewhat solitary location, or its limited hours (closed by 2pm), or its beguiling, brick-red, abandoned-railcar-like structure? Hard to tell. But having ventured inside on a whim—and now returned multiple times—I can say that regardless of its strange circumstances, Juanita’s awesome tacos deserve a try.
RECS: Breakfast and lunch tacos. A unique house speciality is the “machacado” taco: shredded beef with migas (eggs scrambled with tortilla chips and jalapenos).
